Academic Activities & Research Interests:

Dr. Meng Wang has been on the Notre Dame faculty in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering since 2006. Prior to that he was at the Stanford/NASA Center for Turbulence Research as a senior research scientist. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder and B.S. degree in Thermal Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University (China). His research focuses on using computational tools to solve engineering fluid dynamics problems and study the underlying flow physics. He also develops mathematical models and numerical techniques for computational fluid dynamics and aeroacoustics. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and an Associate Fellow of AIAA. His current areas of research include: aeroacoustics/hydroacoustics, aero-optics, flow control, turbulence, computational fluid dynamics.
