Rome and its image, XV-XIX century

The University of Notre Dame Rome Global Gateway, the Vatican Library, and the Centro di Studi sulla Cultura e l’Immagine di Roma at the National Central Library of Rome, have signed a collaboration agreement for the realization of the "Frutaz Project / The Frutaz Project ": a biennial research program that intends to carry out a complete review of Rome's printed cartography of the XV-XIX centuries, updating the extraordinary repertoire Le Piante di Roma, published by Amato Pietro Frutaz in 1962.

As part of the project activities, the first international seminar "Rome and its image, XV-XIX century" will take place on 29 and 30 November 2018. Financial statements and perspectives at fifty years from The Plants of Rome by Amato Pietro Frutaz "with the presentation of the project, interventions and discussion on issues related to the production, dissemination, collecting and historiography of the cartography of Rome in the modern age.
