Inspired Leadership Initiative

Location: Rome Global Gateway

In February, the Rome Global Gateway will welcome Notre Dame’s Inspired Leadership Initiative (ILI) for a full week of academic, cultural, and spiritual engagement. ILI is a one year program for accomplished leaders who have finished their traditional careers and come to Notre Dame to discern their next path in life. This year, 14 fellows are immersing themselves in the rich academic resources of the university both at the main campus and globally while also providing their wisdom across generations to faculty and students through mentoring, guest lecturing and engaging in ND’s many Centers and Institutes.

Prof. Ted Cachey, the founding director of RGG, will join the ILI leadership, fellows, and their spouses/partners for a week including many rich historical, academic, service, and cultural offerings. Among the highlights for the ILI guests will be an opportunity to interact with ND faculty and students studying in Rome. Visits to the Vatican Museums and the Scavi Tours at St. Peter’s Basilica, the Jewish Ghetto, the Community of San’Egidio, and performances at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia will highlight Rome. At the end of the week, the group will wrap up their visit with a trip to Assisi.
