Academic Activities & Research Interests
Jim Schwarten has taught a wide array of courses as an adjunct professor in university programs in Italy since 2005. He has taught immersive Italian language and culture courses at Notre Dame Rome since 2018. Among his publications is a translation of Italian author Dacia Maraini's theatrical works (Extravagance and Three Other Plays). He co-curated the art exhibit Impressionisti Danesi in Abruzzo for Italy's National Gallery of Modern Art. At Notre Dame Rome he currently teaches Italian language and Community Engaged Learning.
