Eleonora Celora is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Notre Dame Rome, where she serves as instructor for the course Intermediate Latin and co-instructor for Urbi et Orbi: Catholicism in the City of Rome. She is a medievalist specializing in plainchant, manuscripts, liturgy, and female saints.
Eleonora received her PhD in Medieval Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2025, with a dissertation titled From the Palestinian Desert to Medieval France: Rhymed Offices and the Liturgy for Saint Mary of Egypt. Her current research develops this work further, focusing on the composition, transmission, and cultural significance of rhymed offices for female saints.
Other projects include the creation of a catalogue of liturgical manuscripts and fragments held by the Biblioteca Pubblica del Seminario Teologico of Gorizia, and the study of sequences preserved in musical manuscripts from Cividale del Friuli.
Eleonora holds a PhD and an MA in Medieval Studies and Classics, respectively, from the University of Notre Dame; an MA in Musicology from the Università degli Studi di Pavia; a BA in Humanities from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano; and a Piano Diploma from the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan
