Notre Dame Rome recently launched the Italy Study Abroad Alumni private online group in partnership with the Notre Dame Alumni Association. The group is hosted on the MyND platform and is open to all current and former Notre Dame students who studied abroad in Italy, their friends, families and spouses.
It is the first time that one of Notre Dame’s international locations has created a virtual space for its thousands of alumni who, for more than 50 years, have been spending a significant period of their university years in study abroad programs in Bologna, Rome and Milan. In fact, University of Notre Dame students have experienced Italy’s beauty and opportunities through study abroad programs since the 1960s.
Since 2014, all Notre Dame students studying in Rome have been welcomed at Notre Dame Rome, which hosts more than 300 students a year, as well as research and other academic initiatives.
Italy Study Abroad Alumni is aimed at re-establishing connections among people and places. ND Rome will serve as a reference point for all Notre Dame affiliates in Italy and will manage this platform as a tool to strengthen friendships, create exchange possibilities and facilitate mutual support.
