The Notre Dame Folk Choir’s Passion Project During Holy Week

When we talk about the Passion, we’re first and foremost referring to the last couple days of Jesus’s life, from the Last Supper up through his death on the cross. The story of Jesus’s Passion has captivated musicians for centuries, from the earliest chanted melodies of scripture to Jesus Christ Superstar. What is it about the Passion that artists have been trying to uncover all this time? This week, we’ll learn a bit more about the development of the Passion in sacred music and discuss the Folk Choir’s Passion Project.

In preparation for the meeting, some resources are dedicated to introductory material, including ‘instructions for use’ on ThinkND.

Join the live discussion on Wednesday, March 31, at 1 p.m. ET with J.J. Wright and the Notre Dame Folk Choir’s Passion Project with Librettist Tristan Cooley and students from the choirRegister to participate and submit your questions for the discussion.
