This event will celebrate the publication of Michael Breidenbach’s illuminating new book with Harvard University Press entitled Our Dear-Bought Liberty: Catholics and Religious Toleration in Early America. The Cushwa Center will bring together leading American Catholic Scholars and Notre Dame Faculty Members Prof. Luca Codignola-Bo (moderator) and Prof. John McGreevy (commentator) to discuss with Dr. Breidenbach how his new book can help us understand the place of Catholics in early America, and how this history bears on our understanding of American Catholicism from the founding until today.
