International Identities and American Saints: Relations between Italy and the United States

-

Location: Rome Global Gateway

Organized by the Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism. An appraisal and discussion of three recent books on the history of American Catholicism, American sainthood, relations between the US and the Italian peninsula. There will be an introduction and a conclusion, besides three twenty-minute papers on each of the three books.

The three books are major contributions in the field of American Catholic history and the history of Italian-US relations. They are already -- and will certainly become -- a staple reference in the scholarly community and in the more general field of interested and discerning readers.
