CCU 2024 Conference

Location: Notre Dame Rome

Catholic Universities: Standing in Solidarity with Partners and Peers in Conflict Zones

Guided by the Consortium pillars and dialogue with several member universities, the focus of the 2024 CCU conference is “Catholic Universities: Standing in Solidarity with Partners and Peers in Conflict Zones.” Responding to global conflict has long been a part of international education and, as Catholic universities, we believe we can come together to think upon how to offer community and support for a world in need.

This conference intends to explore two main questions:

  1. What are important ways universities, especially Catholic universities, through teaching and research, can contribute to cross-cultural dialogue that strengthens resilience and nurtures peace in conflict zones?
  2. What are good and best practices, especially by Catholic universities, for expressing solidarity with partners and peers in conflict-impacted zones?

This Consortium convening will provide a space to (1) listen to what member universities are experiencing in conflict zones, (2) learn about important ways research and teaching can strengthen resilience in conflict zones, and (3) build community and share institutional best practices for expressing solidarity with partners and peers in conflict-impacted zones.

This conference is only open to Consortium Universities, which can be found here.
