Summer 2021 Program

The Rome Summer Internship Program provides support and programming for those carrying out internships in the Eternal City over the summer months.

If international traveling will be resumed, fully-funded opportunities will be made available to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors from late May through early July 2021 through the generous support of the Rome Global Gateway and in cosponsorship with the Nanovic Institute and the DeNicola Center for Ethics and Culture.

Examples of internship opportunities are

In addition to receiving up to $3000 in funding, participants in the Rome Summer Internship Program will receive guidance regarding housing, immigration, and bureaucratic considerations as well as a comprehensive orientation, on-site support, and the opportunity to take part in the Gateway's vibrant summer programming. Other funding may also be available. Besides internship placement, the Rome Summer Internship Program is directed also to provide students with intercultural competence development and reflectivity, cultural enrichment activities, community building.

Applications for the Summer 2021 Program are being accepted on a rolling basis until April 15, 2021. Priority will be given to those with a demonstrated interest in Italian language and/or culture. 

If international traveling will not be allowed, some of the positions may be made available as virtual internships. Funds will not be provided in this instance.
